Mercury Rev To Perform ‘Deserter’s Songs’ Live

Indie legends Mercury Rev are set to perform their seminal album Deserter’s Songs in all its panoramic glory live at The Roundhouse, London on Saturday 21st May 2011 .

And here is a little history of the record from event organisers ATP: ?Mercury Rev began recording what was to become Deserter’s Songs during 1997 at Dave Fridmann’s Tarbox Recording Studio. It was released in 1998 to world-wide acclaim. On this influential album, Mercury Rev reinvented itself with sweeping orchestrations and poetically heartfelt lyrics. ?

The performance is part of the ATP Don’t Look Back season, a series which has previously featured such albums as The Stooges’ Fun House, Sonic Youth’s Daydream Nation and Spiritualized’s Ladies & Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space ( yeah, imagine seeing that live).
